HVAC Spiral Pipes

Spiral duct, also known as spiral pipe, is round duct work used in residential, commercial, and industrial air handling applications. Spiral duct is gaining in popularity over rectangular duct for several reasons. Spiral ducts are inherently quieter than rectangular ducts where air is forced around sharp edges, dampers, and turning vanes. Spiral pipe tends to be the more economical solution over rectangular duct due to a smaller surface area, thus less metal being used in its production. Additionally, spiral ducts tend to leak less than rectangular ducts due to a fewer number of joints. Spiral pipe is typically made of galvanized steel, but aluminum may also be used.
