PHENOLIC INSULATION

Phenolic insulation is a rigid, closed-cell foam product that offers very good performance due to low thermal conductivity. Phenolic foam insulation is typically manufactured in large buns that are then fabricated into pipe cover, curved segments, tank heads and sheets.

  • Overall Performance: Phenolic is a closed-cell foam which limits water migration and provides excellent thermal insulating properties. It will degrade when exposed to sunlight or physical abuse, so it needs to be protected from the elements. Typically facing or jacketing is applied to the exterior surface of phenolic pipe cover to provide outstanding service life.
  • Physical Characteristics: Phenolic has exceptional fire performance. The density can range from 2 to 8 pounds per cubic foot depending upon the job requirements. The high closed-cell content of phenolic gives it very high resistance to moisture penetration.
  • Temperature Range: The service temperature ranges from cryogenic [-297° F (-183° C)] to moderate heat industrial applications reaching 257° F (125° C).
  • Environmentally Safe & Friendly: Phenolic insulation is 100% free of CFCs and HCFCs.
  • Fabricated Products: DI utilizes advanced CNC equipment and computer nesting software to efficiently fabricate curved segments, pipe cover, fittings, and sheets in various sizes and thicknesses to meet your job site needs. DI utilizes state-of-the-art multi-axis milling machines to fabricate tiles, creating consistent and uniform exact-fitting tank head insulation.
  • Reduced Labor Cost: DI fabricated products eliminate in-field fabrication time and cost, allowing you to focus on installation.
  • Applications: Chilled Water Lines, Commercial Buildings, and Cold Service. Additional uses include Cavity Wall Insulation, Pitched Roof Insulation, and Insulated Dry Lining, Pipe Insulation, Curved Segments, and Tank Heads.
