SoftTouch duct wrap insulation offers outstanding thermal properties that reduce unwanted heat loss or gain and condensation during system operation. This blanket type insulation is used to insulate rectangular and round heating, ventilating and air conditioning ductwork. It is manufactured with glass fibers bonded together with a sustainable plant based binder system. Sheet metal ductwork can be insulated by providing an insulating blanket on the exterior of the duct. An insulating blanket provides resistance to heat loss or gain from the air moving through the ductwork. Duct wrap also provides a vapor retarder outer jacket (as an unfaced blanket or with an FSK, gray PSK or white PSK vapor retarder facing), which prevents condensation inside the insulating blanket or on the duct metal surface itself. They are available in 48 ft and 60 ft widths to reduce installation costs. On faced products, a taping tab is provided on one edge for ease of installation.
