Socket Weld

Socket weld aluminum elbows are utilized as metal covers to be put over insulated pipe fittings in an insulation system. Socket weld fittings are typically used for smaller diameter pipe systems that are connected by fillet welds. This type of aluminum elbow is designed to protect the underlying pipe and insulation system from physical damage such as weather or UV light. Due to the anti-corrosive properties of aluminum, socket weld aluminum elbows can also help prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI).
